How does CART work?
CART providers are skilled translators who perform and translate speech to text at highly accurate rates. This is done by utilizing a steno machine and translation software which is very compact and discreet. The stenographic shorthand creates complete and comprehensive text as a result, making the feed nearly simultaneous to the event.
CART providers are trained to capture the spoken word at rates of 225 words per minute or higher — including multiple voices –with an accuracy of 98% or better, something that many other types of captioning do not offer.
